Progetto Vino Collisioni – Collisioni AgriRock Festival 2017

Santa Sofia brings its wines on the tasting stage: on July 15th 2017 we participated to Collisioni Festival AgriRock, an event at its 9th edition that sees the union between wine & food, music and great Italian culture.

It was from an idea of Ian d’Agata that the Progetto Vino was born and brought to the festival: during the exhibition it was possible to participate to different events, like concerts, wine tastings and the “tasting stages”, promoting the dialogue between producers and the great audience, bringing wine outside its comfort zone.

Santa Sofia proposed for the wine tasting Valpolicella Ripasso DOC Superiore 2014 and Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG Classico 2012 in a panel to which some of the most important palates of the world participated.

Steven Spurrier, consultant editor to Decanter, on our Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG Classico 2012:

“Fine deep colour, black and bitter cherry nose, fully rich but almost dry, a really good expression of Corvina and Rondinella grapes, huge natural concentration but nothing in exaggeration, one of the rare Amarones where one could reach for a second glass. 93/100.”

Monty Waldin, writer on Decanter and other guides, on our Valpolicella Ripasso DOC Superiore 2014:

“Mainly Corvina = cherry, plums. Tobacco and chocolate. Lovely bright sweet fruit, ripe, balance, modern, well done in a less weighty style with 9m in Slav oak of 20, 30 and 50hl.”

It was such a good experience: we are already looking forward to next year!
