The wine is aged in big and small wood barrels for about 12 months.

Sensory impressions

Intense ruby red colour with violet undertones, it has distinctive notes of ripe fruits and spiced tones, with reminescens of violet and mint. The palate has an elegant and enveloping character; great body, intense and persistent.

Recommended food pairings

Very good with filetto al pepe verde or with spezzatino; it suits best red meat and it pairs well spiced food.

el Maturlan

In Verona they call you “el Maturlan”, in a jokey way, to say you’re a fool. Traditionally, in the Carnival’s parade, among floats and costumes, the funniest fellow is “Baron Maturlan”, with his noble court and cheerfulness. This wine is like him: smooth and lively, pleasant and funny, it really expresses that maturlan feeling.

Pair it with mid-aged cheeses and red meat, or just be a little bit pranky and do whatever you like with it.
